Fiorentina Win The Race For Marco Brescianini As La Viola Agree Initial Loan Deal

Marco Brescianini has agreed to move to Serie A strugglers Fiorentina on an initial loan deal until the end of the season. 

Brescianini’s future has been the hot topic of debate for the last week but the Atalanta outcast will now head to Florence for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.

Paolo Vanoli’s side beat off competition from the likes of Cagliari, Genoa, Lazio and English Premier League outfit Bourenmouth for the 25-year-old midfielder’s signature.

Marco Brescisnini Set For Fiorentina

Although interest in Marco Brescianini was plentiful, Fiorentina has given their survival chances a huge boost by landing the Atalanta man.

Brescianini has struggled for minutes this season despite impressing for La Dea last term. The Italian international will now head to the Artemio Franchi to help La Viola fight the drop.

As it stands, Paolo Vanoli’s side is perched in 18th place. They are two points from safety having shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw against Lazio on matchday 19.

A last-gasp Pedro penalty denied Vanoli’s men all three points. With Brescianini soon to be onboard, supporters can be quietly confident of avoiding relegation.

If they are able to preserve their Serie A status, Fiorentina is obliged to buy Brescianini at the end of the season. It’s understood the former Frosinone star will cost approximately €10million.

Fiorentina’s Transfer Targets

Once Marco Brescianini officially joins, he’ll be the second player Fiorentina has signed in January. La Viola completed the loan deal for Manor Solomon at the start of the month.

The Israeli international has already featured in the Cremonese and Lazio fixtures. Solomon even helped set up the late winner against the former on matchday 18.

With Amir Richardson’s transfer to Nice imminent, the capture of Brescianini can be viewed as a like-for-like replacement. Even though Richardson barely featured, the Azzurri international is likely to come into the starting XI.

Elsewhere, the likes of Fabio Miretti, Weston McKennie and Daniel Maldini have also been linked. In defense, a Serie A return for Radu Dragusin has been discussed alongside Diego Coppola.

AC Milan wants Coppola – and Dragusin – but La Viola believes they have a strong chance of landing at least one of the Premier League center-backs.
