Como Express Interest in Marc Bernal to Complete Double Barcelona Swoop in January

Como transfer news so far in January has been limited to their pursuit of Barcelona’s Andres Cuenca. However, FootItalia can reveal there are internal discussions around another emerging Blaugrana talent in Marc Bernal.
After a relentless summer of spending that saw Como’s squad value jump 330 percent in the space of a year, things have been relatively quiet in January.
That was until Como expressed interest in a deal for Andres Cuenca; an exciting defensive prospect from Barcelona who is on the verge of completing a loan deal.
Cuenca’s contract is set to expire in the summer, so there is an expectation that Como will make the move permanent, should the loan prove successful
The Lariani’s window shopping at Barcelona may not end there, however, with Cesc Fabregas holding internal discussions with the directors over another emerging talent.

Como transfer news has been far quieter than this time last year, where they ended January as the eighth-biggest spenders globally.
After a period of heavy investment and a raft of new players now settling in comfortably to Fabregas’ ambitious system, there is a feeling from the club’s hierarchy that restraint is needed this winter.
Nevertheless, FootItalia understands the Como manager has specifically requested the board do their due diligence on Barcelona’s Marc Bernal.
Fabregas is understood to have cast a keen eye on the 18-year-old’s ascent from Barca B to the first team.
Likened to Fabregas’ compatriot and former teammate Sergio Busquets, Casado is a confident, commanding presence that could be the perfect addition to Como’s already hugely technical midfield three.
While still emerging in Catalonia, Casado has only racked up a combined 270 minutes across all competitions, and breaking into the Barca midfield is decidedly tough, with the likes of Frenkie De Jong, Pedri and fellow graduate Marc Casado above him in the pecking order.
Como would likely offer Bernal an initial loan deal, with a view to developing him into a regular.
Hansi Flick Wants to Keep Marc Bernal
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has already been cut deep by the exit of another young midfielder, with Dro Fernandez expected to depart for PSG. Flick called it one of the “biggest disappointments” of his career.
He has since come out to publicly express his desire for both Marc Bernal and Marc Casado to stay put in January.
On Bernal, he said: “I hope Marc Bernal stays here. My opinion is clear. But in football you never know.
“From my side, he stays here also because he has a lot of potential”.
Whether Como test Barcelona’s resolve remains to be seen, but Bernal’s pathway into the first team is problematic.
