Lazio and Napoli Away Ban: Government Blocks Serie A Fans Until June
Lazio and Napoli fans are banned from away matches until June after repeated violent clashes, with only one major exception left on the calendar.

Lazio and Napoli Away Ban Confirmed Until June
Not exactly the type of news that Napoli – and Lazio – fans wanted to listen, especially right before the last Champions League Match Day.
The Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, has taken significant action against organized groups of supporters associated with Serie A football clubs.
He recently signed a decree prohibiting fans of Lazio and Napoli from attending their teams’ away games.
The decree will remain in effect until June, which coincides with the end of the Serie A championship and the conclusion of the soccer season.
Why the Government Stepped In
This latest decree comes on the heels of a series of similar restrictions put in place by the Italian government.
Just a few weeks ago, fans of Fiorentina and Roma got hit with a similar ban.
The authorities made the decision after violent clashes on the A1 motorway near Casalecchio di Reno.
These incidents involved not only rival supporters but also disruption to public and critical infrastructure, with the motorway itself becoming a focal point of the unrest.
The Derby Exception
The most recent clash, which led to the government’s decision, happened on Sunday, January 25, near Frosinone.
The clash involved both Lazio and Napoli fans and once again closed the highway, showing how severe and frequent these disturbances are.
There’s one exception to the ban, though. On May 17, Lazio will face Roma in the Derby della Capitale.
Even though Lazio will technically be the away team, the match will be held in Rome.
This mean that their fans can still go to the game like they always do.
Lazio fans can buy tickets and watch the match from their assigned section at the Stadio Olimpico.
