Noa Lang has fired a scathing parting shot at Antonio Conte after leaving Napoli.

Lang joined Galatasaray last month in a €2million loan move which also included an option to buy.

He remains tied down in Naples until 2030 but is unlikely to have a future at the club, having failed to truly establish himself under Conte.

The Dutch international played 960 minutes for Napoli despite joining for €25m only last summer. Damningly, he scored just one goal during his nightmare stint, which has left him with a sour taste.

So much so that he has now unleashed a heated barrage at Conte.

Speaking to ESPN, Lang said: “My arrival in Turkey at Galatasaray speaks for itself. How can I explain it simply? I’ve never had any kind of connection with the coach.

“I know you’re convinced in Holland that it’s my fault, but one day the truth will come out. I’m under contract with Napoli, and I have a lot of respect. I can say I have an excellent relationship with almost everyone at the club.”

The 26-year-old had attracted interest from Premier League duo Sunderland and Leeds United, but landed on Galatasaray after doing his ‘homework’.

While he had praise for the Turkish Super Lig outfit, Lang couldn’t resist another dig at his critics – including Conte.

“The Turkish club is a great club, without a doubt, but I’m not usually someone who wants to leave after six months,” he added. “At Napoli, nine out of ten people didn’t want me to leave.

“I was well integrated into the group, I trained well, but when I had the chance to play, people spoke badly of me. But I didn’t agree at all. As for the style of play, I did well.”

Lang certainly had no shortage of allies in the Napoli dressing room. Indeed, according to Sky Sport, several influential players all pleaded with Conte to change his mind, but they were ultimately unsuccessful.

Scott McTominay, Romelu Lukaku and Giovanni Di Lorenzo were all name-dropped in the report.

There looked to be no way back for Lang after his public spat with Conte, having accused the Italian of barely speaking with him. While their differences were eventually set aside, the ace had already burned his bridges.

Reflecting on his departure from Naples, Lang insisted he had not been treated fairly. The upcoming World Cup, in which he hopes to feature with the Netherlands, also prompted him to seek a transfer.

“I couldn’t take any risks,” he said.
