Natan set to join Real Betis on loan from Napoli

Start

Real Betis are on the verge of bolstering their defensive lineup with the imminent arrival of Natan from Napoli. The Brazilian defender has touched down in Seville to complete his medical examination, paving the way for a season-long loan deal with an option for a permanent transfer.

According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the financial structure of the deal has been revealed. Real Betis will pay a modest loan fee of less than €1 million for the 2024-25 season. The Spanish club will also have the opportunity to make the move permanent at the conclusion of the campaign for a fee ranging between €7-8 million. Importantly, this purchase option is not obligatory, allowing Betis flexibility in their decision-making process.

Natan’s stint at Napoli has been less than ideal since his €10 million transfer from RB Bragantino last summer. The 23-year-old was brought in to fill the void left by Kim Min-jae’s departure to Bayern Munich but struggled to make a significant impact. With only 21 appearances and a single assist to his name, coupled with a setback from a serious shoulder injury, Natan’s time in Naples has been challenging.

Despite interest from several Serie A clubs including Verona, Parma, and Empoli for a domestic loan, Natan has chosen to pursue his career development with Real Betis in La Liga. This move presents an opportunity for the young defender to revitalize his career and showcase his potential in a new environment.
