Allegri Confirms When Fullkrug Will Be Back After Toe Injury Ahead Of Como

Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri has provided an injury update on Niclas Fullkrug ahead of the Como clash.
Fullkrug only joined Milan on loan from West Ham earlier this month, but he already finds himself on the sidelines.
Reports on Tuesday claimed Fullkrug had broken his toe and suggested he could be out for a number of weeks.
However, Allegri has now revealed that the Germany international’s issue is not quite so bad.
Niclas Fullkrug tipped to return for Milan no later than next week
Massimiliano Allegri held his pre-match press conference on Wednesday, where he provided updates on a number of players.
On the subject of Niclas Fullkrug, he said the striker had suffered a knock to his toe and would miss Thursday’s Como clash.
However, Allegri then said he believes Fullkrug could be back for Sunday’s San Siro league meeting with Lecce.
Failing that, Allegri seemed confident Fullkrug would definitely be back for the Serie A trip to Roma the following Sunday.
The Milan coach also said Strahinja Pavlovic is unavailable after suffering a head injury that resulted in him needing stiches.
“Fullkrug is out with Pavlovic,” said Allegri. “Pavlovic has nine stitches, Fullkrug has this knock on his toe that will keep him out today.
“Hopefully for Sunday (he’ll be back), otherwise against Roma.”
A sigh of relief for Niclas Fullkrug and for Milan
Niclas Fullkrug has had to deal with a lot of injury issues of late.
He struggled at West Ham due to a number of fitness problems that prevented him from really getting going.
This resulted in Fullkrug moving to Milan, and his start to life in red and black has been decent enough.
Fullkrug’s full Milan debut saw the Italian media praise him, backing him to make an impact for Allegri.
Therefore, when reports emerged of a potential lengthy injury layoff, it seemed like a case of ‘not again’.
However, Allegri saying Fullkrug could be back as early as this Sunday will come as a huge relief to all those connected with Milan.
