Atalanta reportedly lead the Serie A chase for Williot Swedberg, the Celta Vigo winger who recently scored twice against Real Madrid.
It has been a busy January so far at the New Balance Arena, with Atalanta signing Giacomo Raspadori from under Roma’s noses.
However, it doesn’t look as though La Dea are finished yet with attacking reinforcements.
Why Atalanta want Williot Swedberg
According to Swedish outlet FotbollDirekt, Atalanta now lead the way for Williot Swedberg, who was previously on Parma’s radar.
Swedberg enjoyed a fine end to 2025, bagging three goals in two very important La Liga fixtures.
He scored in a 2-0 win over Real Madrid on December 7. Then, he netted once more in the 2-0 triumph over Athletic Bilbao a week later.
Swedberg then won La Liga’s best Under-23 the month for December, beating the likes of Jude Bellingham and Marc Pubill.

The Swedish talent’s December heroics have led to Serie A clubs now circling around him once again.
In terms of Swedberg’s style of play, he is a modern attacker with superb technical abilities and high tactical intelligence.
The 21-year-old is a creative player who reads the game well, has an eye for goal, and is a good finisher.
How much Williot Swedberg could cost Atalanta
The Swedish newspaper claims Celta Vigo have placed a €12m price tag on Williot Swedberg amid interest from Atalanta.
This would be a sizeable return on investment for Celta, who paid €5.5m to sign Swedberg from Hammarby in 2022.
Atalanta are yet to submit an official offer, but with two weeks to go in the January transfer window, there’s still time.
Celta Vigo are aware they have a valuable player on their hands. Indeed, there is apparently no shortage of contenders for the ‘Kraken’.
With Atalanta in fine form both in the Serie A and in the Champions League, they certainly have what it takes to turn Swedberg’s head.
Daniel Maldini could make way for Swedberg, with reports suggesting he would ‘run’ to suitors Juventus.
