The Latest Christian Pulisic Injury Update Doesn’t Bode Well For AC Milan

Although AC Milan have enjoyed a strong start to the season, the latest Christian Pulisic injury update gives the Rossoneri plenty to ponder.
Pulisic has starred under the guidance of Max Allegri so far in 2025-26. His eight goal contributions in all competitions have fired Allegri’s side to third spot in the table.
Furthermore, the USMNT captain has scored in the opening two rounds of the Coppa Italia. Helping set up a R16 clash vs Lazio in December.
Latest Christian Pulisic Injury Update
Whilst on international duty this month, Christian Pulisic was struggling with an ankle problem going into the friendly clash against Ecuador.
However, the USMNT star came off the bench for the final 17 minutes against the South Americans. Although unscathed, Pulisic lasted less than half an hour against Australia in Denver on October 14.
Socceroos defender Jason Geria brought down Pulisic twice with the second tackle leaving the midfield maestro in clear discomfort.
He was duly subbed out with US head coach Mauricio Pochettino explaining: “I think he felt something in his hamstring. But tomorrow he will fly to Italy, tonight we will assess, and we will see. We cannot say anything at the moment.”
Will Christian Pulisic Play Against Fiorentina?
Christian Pulisic – who recently set a new European scoring record – is expected to be ruled out for Milan’s home clash against Fiorentina on October 19.
Even though a full diagnosis hasn’t been provided by the Rossoneri just yet, the Pulisic injury update via USMNT boss Mauricio Pochettino indicates it’s very unlikely he’ll feature.
The news will come as a huge blow to the San Siro faithful. Especially as Pulisic has been the standout Serie A so far in 2025-26. Even compatriot and US team-mate Tyler Adams believes Pulisic is the best player in Italy.
“An American is the best player in Serie A. What’s the counterargument? It’s incredible. And the fact is, this isn’t his first season. It’s been three seasons already. The stats don’t lie,” Adams told Men In Blazers.
Who Will Replace Christian Pulisic?
Assuming that Christian Pulisic misses the Fiorentina clash, who will replace the Milan star? The most obvious choices would be Christopher Nkunku or Rafael Leao.
The latter is still rediscovering his fitness after suffering a calf strain against Bari in August. Rossoneri fans were happy that Leao was released early from international duty with Portugal earlier this week.
Leao has made just two appearances in Serie A this season but he is expected to be available for selection against La Viola on MD7.
Meanwhile, Nkunku is still settling in to his new surroundings. The French forward was Serie A’s most expensive signing this summer and has scored just once so far.
That solitary strike came on his only start in the Coppa Italia victory vs Lecce. Furthermore, Nkunku netted for Les Bleus against Iceland this week so confidence will be high.
