Manchester United And Real Madrid In Transfer Fight For £7m Como ‘Monster’
The centre-back is being targeted by a host of elite clubs.
Manchester United are weighing up a swoop for Como centre-back Jacobo Ramon, according to reports.

Ramon, 21, has impressed under Cesc Fabregas this season, becoming one of Europe’s standout young defenders. With the 6’5 monster at the heart of their defence, I Lariani have conceded the second fewest goals in Serie A.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, United are interested in snapping him up, alongside Premier League rivals Chelsea and Tottenham. Real Madrid are also in the race and already appear to be in pole position.
Como secured a €2.5m deal to prise him away from Madrid in the summer, after he made just three appearances last season. A buy-back option worth just £7m and a 50 per cent sell-on clause were included in the switch.
“If [Harry] Maguire goes, of course, Manchester United might be in the market for another young centre-back, particularly a left-sided centre-back,” Jacobs told the United Stand.
“But much of these centre backs now are just as comfortable on the left or on the right.
“Like Tottenham and Chelsea, Jacobo Ramon is one name they quite like. He’s capable of playing on the right and on the left. But I think Real Madrid might utilise their buyback clause in the summer and pry him away from Como.”
Supporters have described Ramon as a “monster”, so it is little wonder elite clubs are actively pursuing him.

Who Is Jacobo Ramon?
Ramon has been crucial in Como’s defensive resilience under Fabregas and also holds superb movement.
Incredibly, he wins an average of 3.2 aerial duels per game in Serie A. In comparison to Maguire, whom he could replace at Old Trafford, the current United stalwart hasn’t managed that feat since the 2020-21 campaign.
Using his physicality in both boxes, Ramon has been deadly from set pieces, scoring twice already this season.
His incisive, progressive passing makes him a perfect fit for Fabregas’ attractive style, allowing Como to play out from the back. Unsurprisingly, he has been a regular starter, making 19 appearances.
The Italian outfit are determined to avoid a fire sale, though. A €30m bid for Martin Baturina from Leeds was rebuffed this week, the midfielder having only recently signed a contract until 2030.
Nico Paz looks set to return to Real Madrid, meanwhile, despite Inter Milan’s advances.
