Some stories never really end. As Antonello Venditti sings in Amici mai, some loves travel far — only to come back. That could soon be the case for Franck Kessie Serie A return.
At 29, Franck Kessié is once again being linked with a return to Serie A.
After two seasons away, the Ivorian midfielder appears ready to close his Saudi chapter and head back to Italian football.
Between Atalanta and Milan, where he moved straight after winning the 19th Scudetto in the club’s history at the end of the 2021/2022 season.
The Ivorian left as a free agent, signing with Barcelona that same summer, then leaving a year later in favour of Al Ahli and the millions raining down from the wealthy Saudi Pro League.
From Milan Glory to Saudi Millions
The latest transfer rumour about Kessié is that he’s going to Juventus, and it’s not the first time he’s been linked with the Bianconeri.
Fiorentina also got in touch, hoping that Pioli (his coach when he won the championship with Milan) would be able to convince him to join.
Como also tried to sign him, but they got the same answer as everyone else: they’d have to wait.
Now, or at the latest in the summer, it might be time to bring Kessie back to Serie A.
Juventus Watching and Spalletti Speaks
The Juventus shopping list is a long one, with the acquisition of Franck Kessié for Serie A just one of many potential targets. However, the main priority remains a striker.
While Mateta’s (Crystal Palace) value is dropping, En-Nesyri’s (Fenerbahce) is going up:
