Cremonese star Jamie Vardy has made history after winning the Serie A Player of the Month award for November.

The 38-year-old has become the first Englishman ever to win the award since its introduction in 2019.
Vardy saw off competition from the likes of Mike Maignan, Lautaro Martinez and David Neres after an all-action run of performances for the Grigiorossi.
The former England star shone in November surge as he played virtually every minute for Cremonese, helping to pull them away from relegation worries.
Vardy chipped in with a number of key goals, while his relentless pressing proved a constant thorn in the side of many a Serie A defender.
His form spilled over into early December, when a brace in the 3-1 win away to Bologna underlined just how quickly he has adapted to the league’s tempo and physicality.

Vardy has made 10 appearances for Cremonese, all in Serie A, and he has scored four goals in total.
In addition, he has clocked up a remarkable 783 minutes of game time, including the full 90 minutes in Cremonese’s last eight games.
The Serie A media team highlighted that the award was decided by a mix of fan votes and advanced performance data, with Vardy emerging top of a stellar shortlist.
‘A player from another era’
Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo is thrilled with Vardy’s impact in the Italian top flight.
He described the veteran as a “player from another era”. He also said Vardy’a underdog journey and never-say-die style embody the “romanticism of football”.
Cremonese certainly took a gamble on the Leicester City legend in September, with fans expressing their shock on social media.
However, the award is a statement that their marksman isn’t in Serie A for a farewell tour.
And for Vardy, it’s further proof that his fairy-tale career still has new chapters to write.
Vardy’s deal in Serie A is set to expire in June 2026. The English Premier League winner only signed a one-year deal with Cremonese.
However his recent performances could bring a longer spell in Italy. Cremonese are reportedly plotting a new contract for Vardy.
