Juventus Make Big Kenan Yildiz Contract Breakthrough – But There’s Still One Hold-Up

The club have made the deal a priority and look to have made a breakthrough, with Yildiz set to stay.

According to Tuttosport, negotiations with his entourage and family have now advanced to the final stage. His father Engin and mother Beate have remained in Turin following a positive meeting last week.

Positive progress was made in the discussions, with general manager Damien Comolli crucial in pitching an ambitious project that dispelled any lingering doubts about the forward’s future with the Old Lady.

Luciano Spalletti’s arrival has also convinced Yildiz to stay, the duo enjoying a strong working relationship.

The 20-year-old has attracted interest from the Premier League, with Liverpool keen among others, while Real Madrid have also been circling in LaLiga. However, the heavyweights now look set to miss out.

How Much Will He Earn?

Yildiz’s current €1.5million net per season is simply not enough. As a result, Juventus have tabled a staggering salary similar to that of Jonathan David, worth around €6m net per year.

His increase will likely see Yildiz become the highest-paid player in the squad should Dusan Vlahovic depart as expected. He loves Juventus, but also desired a wage that reflects his burgeoning profile.

The new agreement would also tie the Turkish international down at the Allianz Stadium until June 2031.

Now, all that remains is the signing bonus his family intends to include in the fresh terms. Juventus are not concerned and, in fact, expect to wrap up negotiations by the end of the current transfer window.

Luciano Spalletti Crucial

Spalletti lavished praise on Yildiz after the impressive 3-0 victory against Napoli, describing him as an “alien”.

“Yildiz played as the striker and scored,” he said. “He’s an alien, not a normal footballer.

“Every now and then, he does something wrong just to see if he can fit into normality, but he can’t. He simply can’t become a normal footballer.”

Warm words, indeed, and with Juventus determined to hand Spalletti a new contract beyond the end of the season, Yildiz is even more likely to put pen to paper over the coming weeks.

The 66-year-old head coach is content to wait until the closing stages of the campaign before holding talks over a new deal. However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the club want to secure him until 2028.

Spalletti first wants specific guarantees over the future direction of the squad, including transfer targets. Handily, Yildiz is at the heart of his plans, and the youngster is now all but certain to stay.
