Lecce Set To Sign Polish Midfielder Wiktor Staszak Amid Interest In Sydny Cabral

Lecce are closing in on a move for teenage midfielder Wiktor Staszak from Wisla Krakow, according to reports in Italy and Poland.
Lecce set to sign Wiktor Staszak on loan-to-buy deal
The 19-year-old is reportedly joining Lecce on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy.
Local outlet Antenna Sud reported Lecce are “a step away” from landing Staszak, while Calciomercato said they have “practically finalised the signing”.
Meanwhile, Polish outlet Kalisz Nasze Miasto said the option is at just under €500,000, with Wisła also due a sell-on percentage.
Staszak joined Wisla in 2025 after coming through the ranks at KKS Kalisz. He signed a deal running to 2029 with an extension option.
He began his football journey at Lech Poznan’s academy before moving to Kalisz, where he broke into senior football.
Staszak has struggled for first-team minutes in Krakow, with just four senior appearances to his name so far.
He has played mainly for Wisla II, making 11 third-tier appearances, scoring three goals and adding one assist.
Wisla president Jaroslaw Krolewski recently spoke of a big transfer on the cards.
“There could be a surprise here soon,” he told Gazeta Krakowska.
“And a rather loud one at that, which will show that even transfers from the second team can go to Western clubs.”
What Lecce’s plan for Staszak could look like
Staszak is likely to start with Lecce’s Primavera side, giving him time to adapt to a new country and style.
For Staszak, the attraction is obvious. He will be training at elite facilities amid higher training intensity and a faster pathway if he settles quickly.
For Wisla, the loan offers potential minutes for a player who has struggled to break into a crowded midfield.
If Lecce trigger the option, Wisla would bank a significant fee by Polish standards, plus a percentage of a future transfer fee.
The deal is not yet official, but reports in both countries suggest the final steps are close.
Lecce are currently a midfielder down, with Medon Berisha out injured.
Other Lecce transfer business
Lecce are currently being linked to Estrela Amadora full-back and Cape Verde star Sidny Lopes Cabral.
Italian reports say the interest reflects Lecce’s strong working relationship with Estrela, following previous deals for Danilo Veiga and Tiago Gabriel.
Cabral is deemed a realistic target if Lecce can line up the right formula, either permanently or a loan.
The same reports add Lecce’s January plans will also depend on outgoings.
Owen Kouassi, Filip Marchwinski, Hamza Rafia, Thorir Helgason and Balthazar Pierret are all potential departures.
