Milan Chief Igli Tare Wants Verbal Agreement From €27m Striker ‘As Quickly As Possible’
Igli Tare wants to secure an agreement 'as quickly as possible'.
Milan will soon step up their pursuit of West Ham striker Niclas Fullkrug, according to reports.
Igli Tare wants verbal agreement between Milan and Niclas Fullkrug
Milan’s interest in Fullkrug has been intensifying on the transfer rumour mill in recent weeks.
Milan’s main priority in January is signing a new striker, and Fullkrug is increasingly viewed as a leading option.
Milan’s 2-2 draw with Sassuolo at the weekend kept the Rossoneri’s attacking concerns firmly in the spotlight.
Both goals came from full-back Davide Bartesaghi, while Christian Pulisic and Christopher Nkunku didn’t score.
Injuries to Rafael Leao and Santiago Gimenez meant Massimiliano Allegri had few solutions from the bench.
Now, Fullkrug has reportedly risen on Igli Tare’s shortlist, with Matteo Moretto reporting that things will step up soon.
Fullkrug has been discussed for months, with Tare already in contact last summer with the agency representing the 32-year-old.
The German is seen as a good profile for Milan, partly due to his Premier League struggles and favourable deal conditions with West Ham.
Moretto, speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, says new direct contacts are expected across multiple fronts in the coming days.
Talks are anticipated between Milan and West Ham, as well as between Milan and the player’s entourage.
Moretto adds that Tare wants to secure Fullkrug’s approval “as quickly as possible”.
Milan hope to reach a verbal agreement first, then assess how negotiations develop around other attacking targets later in the window.
How Niclas Fullkrug has been doing at West Ham
Fullkrug is under contract at West Ham until 2028, but his start in England has been underwhelming.
Indeed, Fullkrug’s West Ham stats leave a lot to be desired.
He has made nine appearances, totalling 413 minutes, but is yet to score this season.
Fullkrug also suffered a muscle issue between late October and early November.
Injuries limited Fullkrug’s game time last season. He finished the season with just three goals to his name.
The €27million man is not indispensable for Nuno Espirito Santo’s project, so a January departure has not been ruled out.
