Bocchetti, a former AC Milan defender, has signed a long-term contract with Monza, committing to the club until June 30, 2027. This extensive agreement demonstrates the faith the Brianza-based club, led by Adriano Galliani, has in the 38-year-old coach’s abilities to turn their fortunes around.
The new appointment comes with a sense of urgency as Monza finds itself in a precarious position, desperately needing an immediate turnaround to avoid relegation. Bocchetti’s previous coaching experience includes a stint with Hellas Verona, where he played a role in helping the club secure Serie A survival.
In an official statement, AC Monza confirmed Nesta’s departure: “AC Monza announces that Alessandro Nesta has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the First Team. The Club thanks the coach for his work to date and wishes him the best for the future.”
Bocchetti faces a significant challenge as he takes the reins at Monza, with the primary objective being to steer the club away from the relegation zone.
