Marco Ottolini is a 45-year-old scout turned as a sporting director. He had a short playing career, joining Brescia’s youth team in 1993 and spending a couple of years with the first team until 2002.

Ottolini completed an internship with the Belgian FA; which was his first experience of working in the management side of the game. He then worked as an agent, intermediary and consultant for over a decade before joining RSC Anderlecht of the Belgian Pro League as an international scout.

Ottolini worked with the Belgian team for almost three years, from 2015 to 2018.

He began his first stint with Juventus in 2018. In fact, he held several roles, initially working as a scout before being promoted to loans manager in 2021.

After spending a year managing Juventus’ on-loan players, Ottolini secured his first position as a sporting director, joining Genoa at the beginning of the 2022–23 season.

Genoa had been relegated to Serie B the previous season, but were promoted back to the top flight at the end of Ottolini’s first year with the club. Since then, the Grifone have achieved stable mid-table finishes, ending in 11th place in 2023–24 and 13th place in 2024–25.
