Ruben Loftus-Cheek could be on his way out of AC Milan in the January transfer window.

The Rossoneri midfielder has struggled for game time and is understood to be seeking a fresh challenge for the second-half of the campaign.

Loftus-Cheek also has World Cup aspirations for next summer, too. He has re-emerged on Thomas Tuchel’s radar and earned an England recall in September for the World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek Transfer News

Three months ago, a new Ruben Loftus-Cheek contract was mooted alongside fellow Englishman Fikayo Tomori. However, Loftus-Cheek almost certainly won’t be committing his long-term future to the club.

Although he has 12 Serie A appearances to his name this term, eight of them have come from the bench. Hence why the player and AC Milan are willing to part ways in January.

Loftus-Cheek has 18 months on his current deal so head coach Max Allegri is willing to cash in. The funds raised will help towards the Italian giants pursuit of other targets.

What Teams Are Interested In Ruben Loftus-Cheek?

According to Italian sports journalist Luca Cohen, two unnamed English Premier League teams are keen on signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

One of them is understood to be Newcastle United. The Magpies have kept tabs on Loftus-Cheek in recent months as head coach Eddie Howe looks to bolster his midfield options.

Howe’s men are fighting on three fronts currently and squad rotation will be key going into the new year. Especially as Joelinton has entertained a number of fitness concerns.

AC Milan’s January Targets

Once the January transfer window opens in three weeks, AC Milan are set to add a number of players to their roster. Especially if Ruben Loftus-Cheek moves on.

Milan have targeted Adin Licina of Bayern Munich II. The 18-year-old has been compared to Juventus poster boy and Turkey star Kenan Yildiz.

Another move that could come to fruition is that of Lazio defender Adam Marusic. The Montenegro international has reportedly been offered to the Rossoneri.

Elsewhere, Joshua Zirkzee has been linked although it appears Roma currently lead the race for the Dutchman. More interestingly, a sensational swap deal involving Christopher Nkunku and Robert Lewandowski is also gaining traction.

Hugo Souza, Toni Fruk, Jean-Philippe Mateta and even Sergio Ramos have been discussed as well.
