Santiago Gimenez Wanted By Three Premier League Clubs After AC Milan Exit Decision
The striker is keen to leave the San Siro but will be sidelined until at least February.
AC Milan striker Santiago Gimenez wants to leave the club and is being targeted by several Premier League sides.
Santiago Gimenez Looking For January Move
Gimenez has underwhelmed since moving to the San Siro from Feyenoord in January 2025. He has yet to get off the mark in Serie A this season and now finds himself fourth choice in Massimiliano Allegri’s frontline.
The ace has also decided to undergo surgery after suffering from a niggling right ankle issue since October. The procedure is expected to keep him out for around two months.
His absence will complicate any potential approaches next month, but regardless, the Mexican is pushing to leave Milan as soon as possible.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Gimenez’s entourage will actively look for a move in January, knowing that the player will likely drop further down the pecking order after Niclas Fullkrug’s arrival on loan.
That could effectively leave the 24-year-old ostracised, especially with Milan not in the Champions League.
Gimenez is determined to play for his country at the World Cup and is aware he needs more playing time.
Now, Italian journalist Niccolo Ceccarini has claimed that Premier League outfits Leeds United and West Ham United are keen. However, it remains to be seen whether they would prefer to wait until the end of the campaign.
He has also been linked with Sunderland, who have impressed upon their return to the top-flight in England.
Various reports have indicated that Gimenez is available for €32million.
Santiago Gimenez Still ‘Important’ For Milan
Despite the striker’s poor form since arriving in Italy, Milan sporting director Igli Tare recently labelled him an “important” player.
Discussing the club’s transfer plans, Tare said: “It’s hard to find players who can make a difference in the January window, but we’ll keep our eyes open to see if there’s something that can improve the situation of the team.
