Thiago Motta’s agent says the coach is solely focused on Bologna, despite reports of an agreement with Juventus. The Rossoblu boss is one of the most in-demand Serie A coaches, having led his Bologna side to 4th place, with Champions League football a very real prospect. Rumours of Juventus interest have filled the Italian newspapers in recent weeks, but speaking with TMW Radio’s Maracanà (via TuttoJuve), agent Alessandro Canovi stressed his clients dedication to his current club, Bologna. Canovi emphasized that Motta’s primary focus lies solely on Bologna, amidst swirling talks of potential transfers and contract negotiations with Juventus:

“It’s quite simple. One can’t fully grasp what Motta is experiencing at Bologna today. His priority truly isn’t his future; it’s Bologna. The atmosphere is incredible, and he feels the weight of this extraordinary situation on his shoulders. It’s a challenging moment to describe, the one that the city is going through. And it’s hard to think of anything else, really. It’s a unique combination of factors, akin to what he experienced at Spezia. He can’t think of anything else at the moment.”

Regarding ongoing negotiations, Canovi clarified, “At this moment, we’re all involved because it’s a unique situation. I represent Motta’s interests, and while many things are being speculated, we’re essentially talking about nothing. There are no agreements or discussions underway. Currently, the only reality is that Motta has a contract expiring with Bologna. Will he stay at Bologna? I can’t say, because I have no negotiations with anyone. We can’t discuss things that aren’t happening.”

Furthermore, Canovi touched upon the broader landscape of managerial changes in top clubs, noting, “The confirmation of Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen has opened up various significant and coveted coaching opportunities for Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona. These are three intriguing and highly sought-after managerial positions at the moment.”
