The UEFA Youth League attendance record has been broken ahead of Inter Milan’s clash against FC Koln next month.

Inter’s Primavera side will play in front of at least 41,000 supporters at Koln’s RheinEnergieSTADION on February 4 in the Round of 32 clash, the German club confirmed.

Tickets are still available for the historic event which means the number will likely increase. The maximum capacity of the venue is listed at 50,000.

UEFA Youth League Attendance Record

Interestingly, this will be the second record-breaking appearance for Inter Milan’s young guns. The previous was set when Inter Milan Primavera played in front of 40,368 supporters against Trabzonspor at the Senol Guneş Sports Complex.

The venue is more commonly referred to as the Akyazı Stadium and has a maximum capacity of 40,980. Inter lost 1-0 in the quarter-final clash last April which signaled the end of their run in the 2024-25 competition.

The Italians will be hoping for better fortunes this time around against their German counterparts. A number of stars will be hoping to shine in the hope of one day making Cristian Chivu’s senior squad.

On January 20, Arsenal fans praised Pio Esposito during their 3-1 Champions League victory. The Italian forward has made great strides in recent seasons and continues to impress in Serie A having shined in the youth set-up.

Inter Milan Primavera Stars Who Could Make Cristian Chivu’s Senior Roster

The UEFA Youth League plays host to some of the world’s finest up-and-coming soccer stars. And playing in front of growing attendances will help acclimatize them for first-team action.

Something of which clearly benefited Pio Esposito. The forward played in the 2022-23 edition before making a name for himself via two loan spells with Spezia.

Naturally, a number of players want to follow suit. Inter Milan’s Primavera side is earning a favorable reputation following the recent success of Esposito.

Although not a product of Inter’s academy, Alessandro Bastoni is considered a fine example to follow. He actually came through Atalanta’s set-up but his loyalty and passionate performances have seen him earn hero status.

Interestingly, Primavera star defender Leonardo Bovio has been likened to Liverpool target Bastoni. The 17-year-old is deemed one of Inter’s hottest talents who has a big future ahead of him.

Bovio is already earning plaudits from his coaches owing to his mature and energetic displays. Some have even gone as far to say he could captain Inter one day.

Elsewhere, the likes of Mattia Mosconi, Jamal Iddrissou and Hugo Humanes are also tipped to make the senior squad.
