Weston McKennie And Juventus Set To Resume Contract Negotiations
The 27-year-old has the second-highest number of UCL goals among all Old Lady midfielders.
Weston McKennie and Juventus will sit down once again to continue contract talks, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
McKennie and Juve are hoping to reach an agreement on extended and improved terms. The USMNT star has been a revelation in recent weeks and Luciano Spalletti wants to tie him down for the long-term.
Negotiations had temporarily stalled but both club and player will resume negotiations in early February. McKennie’s current deal expires in June.

Weston McKennie Juventus Contract Update
After the latest Weston McKennie Juventus contract update from last week reported that talks will recommence next month, supporters will be hopeful the American puts pen to paper.
Even more so as Premier League interest in McKennie has ramped up in recent weeks. The US midfielder has been on the radar of England’s elite clubs for some time.
However, his potential suitors may be left disappointed. It’s widely expected that the 27-year-old will commit his future to the Bianconeri in the next few weeks.
McKennie currently earns €3million per year and it’s believed that he will bank €4-5m with his new deal. A figure of which he and his entourage will be happy to oblige to.
It remains to be seen how long McKennie will sign for. A 3-4 year deal is the likeliest scenario which would see the USMNT utility man stay in Turin until he is at least 30.
Weston McKennie’s Revival Under Luciano Spalletti
In October, FootItalia reported that Weston McKennie’s Luciano Spalletti revival could play a key role in keeping the Texan star in Turin.
And after recent performances – in particular against Benfica in the Champions League – it seems that Spalletti’s influence is about to pay dividends.
McKennie has arguably been Juventus’ best player since Spalletti replaced Igor Tudor three months ago. It’s no secret that McKennie and Tudor certainly didn’t see eye-to-eye.
However, McKennie’s own father said that Spalletti is bringing the best out of his son: “Wes is the happiest I have seen him in quite some time. The coach has definitely been the difference!”
That in itself should give the Allianz faithful plenty of confidence that McKennie will sign an extension. His turnaround has been extremely remarkable.
The 27-year-old is definitely flourishing under the former Azzurri boss. Spalletti has utilized McKennie into his preferred right-midfield role and the former is certainly getting the best out of the American ace.
