When Denzel Dumfries Could Be Back From Injury As Inter Make Surgery Announcement

Inter have announced that Denzel Dumfries has undergone surgery on his ankle injury.

Dumfries was forced off during Inter’s 2-0 win over Lazio on November 9, and was initially expected to return in the opening stages of December.
However, the issue proved to be far worse than the Nerazzurri believed, resulting in the 29-year-old opting for an operation.
Dumfries underwent a specialist consultation and decided to go under the knife, according to reports.
Inter have now made an announcement involving Dumfries’ surgery and what lies ahead for the Dutchman.
“This afternoon, Tuesday 16 December, Denzel Dumfries underwent surgery to stabilize his left ankle at the Fortius Clinic in London,” they wrote.
“The Dutch winger will undergo a rehabilitation program in the coming weeks.”

Inter did not publish an estimated return date, but Eurosport estimate Dumfries could be on the sidelines for two to three months.
Goal Italia claimed that his recovery is expected for March, although it will then depend on how his rehabilitation progresses.
What Inter could now do in January transfer window
Inter are likely to delve into the January market to provide Cristian Chivu with reinforcements in Dumfries’ position.
Dinamo Zagreb’s Moris Valincic is among the names reportedly on Inter’s wishlist.
Inter are also considering younger targets such as Federico Nardin and Lorenzo Tosto, albeit as longer-term development ideas.
So far, the Nerazzurri have been using Luis Henrique or moving Carlos Augusto over to the right flank.
For now, Inter’s official messaging on Dumfries is purely medical.
The Nerazzurri have confirmed his surgery ahead of a monitored rehabilitation pathway in the coming weeks.
But with Dumfries expected out deep into the 2025/26 campaign, the next update may be as much about squad solutions as recovery milestones.
Dumfries joined a new agency just a few weeks ago, and the current state of affairs raises more questions about his Inter future.
In the meantime, Inter will contest the Italian Super Cup alongside Milan, Napoli and Bologna.
