Torino Goalkeeper Becomes The Latest Man United Target To Replace Andre Onana

Start

The latest Man United transfer news has revealed that the Red Devils are keeping tabs on Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.

Current shotstopper Andre Onana’s future at Old Trafford is in doubt after a number of errors since transferring from Inter for €55.4million ($63.2million) in 2023.

The Cameroon international arrived in the English Premier League with a glowing reputation after starring for the Nerazzurri.

During his time at the San Siro, Onana won the Coppa Italia. He also played in the Champions League final against Man City in 2023.

However, Onana was unable to translate his sparkling form under the guidance of former United manager Erik ten Hag. Even since Ruben Amorim’s appointment at the end of last year, Onana has failed to improve.

Despite keeping 11 clean sheets in all competitions, the 29-year-old has conceded 62 times across 47 appearances in 2024-25.

16 of those have come in the Europa League which included the two glaring goals shipped to Lyon in the quarter-final first leg draw in April.

Man United Transfer News Reveals Vanja Milinkovic-Savic Interest

According to sports journalist Matteo Moretto (@MatteMoretto) via Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano), Vanja Milinkovic-Savic is on Man United’s summer wishlist.

Matteo explains how initial contact has already been made between Torino and the Red Devils. Milinković-Savic’s contract is up in 2026 and a move away from Turin is increasingly likely.

Man United have identified two Serie A goalkeepers to replace Andre Onana at Old Trafford. Now, it appears Ruben Amorim has identified a third shotstopper from Italy’s elite soccer division.

Standing at 6ft 8in, Milinkovic-Savic has represented the Toro since 2017. During that time, the Serbian international has played 155 games and kept an impressive 52 clean sheets.

11 of those have come in 2024-25 as the Granata occupies 11th in the Serie A standings. In terms of a transfer price, a fee in the region of €20m ($22.6m) should be enough to tempt Paolo Vanoli’s side into negotiations.

However, a firm price hasn’t been fully established but with Milinkovic-Savic’s contract running down, he will be affordable for the Red Devils.
