Serie A Records Major Increase In Stadium Attendances In 2025 As Milan Duo Continue To Bring Biggest Crowds

Start

The average Serie A attendances were nearly at an all-time high during the 2024/25 campaign, as Italian soccer continues to rise.

Which Serie A Clubs Have The Biggest Fan Base?

The Serie A is often regarded as the most historic league of all-time, dominating the sport in the 1980’s to late 90’s and caught the eye of soccer fans across the globe.

More noticeably, the love for soccer in Italy is undeniable and supporters have been renowned for the chaotic atmosphere’s, especially with the multiple derby days.

Now in 2025, the popularity and viewing figures for Italy’s top division are higher than they’ve ever been before, with the average matchday crowd sitting at 30,842 per match – one of the highest figures of all-time.

It will come as no surprise that the two Milan sides brought in the biggest crowds throughout the year, as AC Milan averaged 71,512 and Inter were just behind with 70,129.

Boasting the largest-capacity stadium in Serie A means this was always going to be the case, although Napoli’s average attendance in the 2024/25 season was higher than Lazio’s – despite the Laziali boasting a larger stadium.

Roma averaged more than their Stadio Olimpico partners, averaging 70,129, while Lazio brought in 44,077 and Napoli averaged 51,037 during their title winning campaign.

Antonio Conte’s side are one of the favorites to win the league title on Serie A betting sites and figures would be expected to rise after last season’s success.

Other standout names like Juventus managed to host 40,237 during the season, accumulating over 764k across the campaign as a whole and Atalanta averages 22,675 per match.

Looking towards the lower end of the scale, we have Venezia, Como and Empoli who all failed to bring in over 11k on average during the campaign.

With certain teams having the ability to bring in more spectators, it may be fairer to look into how full stadiums were in relation to their maximum capacity.

Cagliari sit top of the ‘capacity usage’ rankings, as they filled out 98.3% of the Stadio Unipol Domus per match, filling around 16k for every matchday.

Juventus were the only other side to fill out over 95% of their stadium per match and the two Milan sides, Napoli and Atalanta were the only other club to break 90%.

On the opposite end of the scale, Empoli once again take the bottom spot as the 11-thousand fans the club brought in per match only took up 54.3% of their maximum capacity.

Monza, Hellas Verona and Lazio were also on the lower end, failing to fill more than 65% of their stadium and the Laziali may struggle to increase these numbers following a recent transfer ban.
