Dusan Vlahovic is set to undergo surgery after the Juventus star suffered a high-grade tear in his adductor muscles.

Vlahovic had to be substituted during the 2-1 victory over Cagliari on matchday 13. Kenan Yildiz scored both goals but the Bianconeri faithful were left deeply concerned after the Serb limped off.

Due in London today (December 4) to correct the problem, Vlahovic’s Juve future has been cast into fresh doubt after the untimely setback.

Dusan Vlahovic Injury Update

It’s expected that Dusan Vlahovic will miss the next three months of action. The recovery time for an injury of this nature can vary but it’s unlikely he’ll return to action before March 2026.

Vlahovic underwent medical checks on December 1 whereby Juventus’ worst fears were confirmed. The Serbian international had suffered ‘a high-grade lesion to the muscle-tendon junction of the left adductor longus’.

Now, Vlahovic will miss the next 15-18 games. They include vital Champions League clashes against Pafos, Benfica and Monaco.

The 26-year-old will also be ruled out of the crunch Serie A games against the likes of Napoli (2), Roma (2), Bologna and the Derby d’Italia against Inter Milan.

Who Will Replace Dusan Vlahovic?

Naturally, filling the void left by Dusan Vlahovic won’t be easy. After Jonathan David’s goal drought ended against Bodo/Glimt, he is the most obvious choice.

In fact, it was the Canadian international who replaced Vlahovic against Cagliari. David also started in the recent 2-0 Coppa Italia victory against Udinese on December 2.

Lois Openda is also another alternative for head coach Luciano Spalletti. Openda – like David – joined in the summer but has struggled so far during his time at the Allianz Stadium.

If push comes to shove, Real Madrid target Kenan Yildiz could also be utilized up top. The Bianconeri poster boy typically operates as an attacking left winger but can also play as a secondary striker.

Could Juventus Dip Into The Transfer Market?

Even though a new Dusan Vlahovic contract was hinted at by the Juventus star in October, it remains to be seen whether he will actually commit his long-term future to the club.

Juve was likely casting an eye over other targets in the January window anyhow. Now, with Vlahovic crocked, their need for a genuine goalscorer has been heightened.

Although Jonathan David and Lois Openda are already on board, Luciano Spalletti will be identifying others who could potentially move to Turin next month.

Hellas Verona hotshot Giovane has been mentioned. Joshua Zirkzee is also another option alongside Genoa’s Joi Nuredini.

Spalletti has limited time to decide whether bringing new attackers on board is going to benefit but losing a striker such as Vlahovic will surely see the former Azzurri boss strongly consider available players.
