Luis Henrique Could Be On His Way Out Of Inter Milan As Turkish Giants Circle
The former Botafogo star cost €25m in the summer transfer window.
Luis Henrique could be set for an Inter Milan exit this month with Besiktas keen on his services.
The Brazilian only moved to the San Siro in June but reports suggest he could sign for the Turkish giants on an initial loan deal.
Henrique had struggled to nail down a regular spot in Cristian Chivu’s starting XI. However, the right-midfielder has seen his minutes increase in recent weeks.
Inter are undecided at this stage whether losing the former Marseille star is in their best interests. The Serie A leaders aren’t expected to make many January signings which could force Chivu to keep Henrique on board.
Luis Henrique Transfer News
After Joao Cancelo rejected Inter Milan’s approach, the Nerazzurri are not going to rush into a decision regarding Luis Henrique’s future.
The 24-year-old has started the last six Serie A games and is beginning to adapt well to Italy’s elite soccer division. Which is exactly what Inter wanted after Denzel Dumfries injury setback.
Dumfries is out for the foreseeable which has given Henrique the platform to shine. An opportunity the Brazilian has grasped and in turn, has generated interest from Besiktas.
The Turkish Super Lig side is in the market for a pacey and creative wide man and views Henrique as an ideal candidate. Especially as the Black Eagles want to sharpen their attack for the second-half of the campaign.
Henrique still has slim hopes of making Brazil’s World Cup squad. Sergen Yalcın believes he can help the midfielder achieve his aim as it’s likely he’ll earn more game time in Turkey.
However, Henrique’s resurgence will make it harder to lure him from the San Siro. Even more so after Cristian Chivu heaped praise on his first summer-signing.
Cristian Chivu On Luis Henrique’s Form
“Henriques’s organized, he’s improved a lot tactically. He does the right things. He’s one of those who makes the fewest mistakes in a match, Chivu said on Inter TV after the 2-0 win over Parma.
“Henrique has improved a lot, he’s a big help. He’s a player at Inter‘s level, he’s bringing out the best version of himself. He’ll give us a big help.
“Given the runs he makes, the way we defend, it’s not easy to cover 80 meters every three minutes at his intensity and maintain the clarity to do the right things.”
With the above in mind, it seems like Besiktas have a large task on their hands to convince Inter into parting company with their Brazilian.
