Lazio Told To Increase Offer For Hellas Verona Forward Giovane

According to the latest Giovane transfer news, Lazio will need to up their bid for the Hellas Verona star. 

Sports journalist Alfredo Pedulla confirmed the two Serie A sides are locked in negotiations for the Brazilian forward. However, Verona are seeking a higher transfer fee.

The Biancocelesti have seen a €10million offer turned down with Paolo Zanetti’s men seeking a figure between €13-15m for the South American prodigy.

Since Lazio’s interest in Giovane became apparent at the start of the January window, head coach Maurizio Sarri has prioritized the Hellas Verona hotshot.

Even though arch-rivals Roma declared their intent as well, Donyell Malen’s Giallorossi transfer has appeased their need for a new forward.

That has left the path clear for Sarri to sign his top attacking target this month. If a deal cannot be reached, the Biancocelesti have shortlisted Patrick Wimmer as an alternative.

Nonetheless, Sarri firmly believes he can strike an agreement with Verona. Moroccan midfielder Reda Belahyane could be heading back to the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi as part of the deal.

Belahyane only moved to the Stadio Olimpico from the Gialloblu last year. He is deemed surplus to requirements so a cash offer including the 21-year-old could be enough to tempt Paolo Zanetti.

What Will Giovane Bring To Lazio?

Giovane is widely regarded as one of the finest talents to emerge from Italy’s elite this season. Serie A and Bundesliga interest has been evident for some months now owing to the 22-year-old’s raw ability.

The Brazilian Under 20 international demonstrates all the attributes that typically come natural to South American forwards.

Giovane’s explosive pace, versatility to play across a number of attacking positions and his keen eye for goal is exactly what Lazio’s Maurizio Sarri is seeking.

This season alone, Giovane’s technical ability and his excellent dribbling skills have made him a handful for defenders. He is naturally left-footed and likes to cut in from wide positions.

So far in 2025-26, Giovane has three league goals and four assists to his name. It’s perhaps a bit too early to compare the Hellas Verona whiz to the recently departed Taty Castellanos but he certainly has the potential to fill the void left by the Argentine.
