AC Milan And Fiorentina Set To Miss Out On Brighton Defender Diego Coppola
The Rossoneri and La Viola will need to pursue other defensive options.
Diego Coppola is closing in on a January switch to Ligue 1 outfit Paris FC, disappointing both AC Milan and Fiorentina.
Sports journalist Matteo Moretto confirmed via his official X channel that the French club are leading the race for Coppola’s signature.
The Azzurri international only moved to English Premier League side Brighton in the summer. However, Coppola has struggled for minutes at the AMEX and is seeking more game time.

Diego Coppola Set To Join Paris FC
After Paris FC’s pursuit of Edin Dzeko ended in failure owing to Schalke’s intervention for the Fiorentina forward, the French side looks set to get one over on La Viola this time around.
Coppola is primed to move to Ligue 1 and will likely join on loan. Matteo Moretto didn’t disclose the small print of the deal but a temporary switch would suit Brighton.
Especially as the Seagulls shelled out €11million for the talented center-half in June. Head coach Fabian Hurzeler still rates Coppola highly but believes a fresh start will benefit both club and player.
The 22-year-old has bags of potential and has impressed when selected. Nonetheless, dislodging the favored center-back pairing of Lewis Dunk and Jan Paul van Hecke is proving difficult.
As far as Paris boss Stephane Gilli is concerned, he is expected to give Coppola the regular starts his crave. That in turn will not only help the Ligue 1 side move up the table, but boost Coppola’s World Cup chances should Italy qualify.
What Defenders Will AC Milan And Fiorentina Pursue?
Now AC Milan target Diego Coppola is closing in on his move to Paris FC, the Rossoneri will have to turn their attentions elsewhere.
Coppola was interesting Fiorentina as well so similar to their Serie A rivals, Paolo Vanoli’s charges will also have to seek new personnel at the back.
Both clubs have prioritized defensive signings this month. Plenty of names have been banded about but so far, none have come to fruition.
Max Allegri’s side has been linked with the likes of Lecce’s Tiago Gabriel as well as Tarik Muharemovic. The latter currently represents Sassuolo and both players remain on AC’s radar.
Meanwhile, Fiorentina have spoken to Radu Dragusin’s entourage but the Tottenham defender could be on his way to Roma. The trio of Diogo Leite, Eric Dier and David Alaba are also strong considerations.
