Lorenzo Insigne Working Tirelessly to Keep Himself in Shape as He Eyes Serie A Return

Recent social media posts from former Napoli legend Lorenzo Insigne show he is not giving up hope of a return to Serie A.
After agreeing to mutually terminate his contract with Toronto back in July, Lorenzo Insigne has remained without a club ever since.
The former Napoli legend has been the subject of plenty of rumours, and there were even reports Insigne was close to Lazio after sleeping at their training ground over the summer.
Despite holding out for the club to make an approach, with a preference to work with Maurizio Sarri once again, Lazio’s transfer embargo ultimately halted any deal from progressing.
The Biancocelesti have not revisited any plans to offer Insigne a short-term deal since, leaving the 34-year-old’s future up in the air.

Insigne made his future intentions known to the public in the summer after revealing he dreams of a World Cup berth in Italy’s squad, should they make it through the play-offs.
That appears to be nothing more than a pipe dream for a player who hasn’t competed in Europe for nearly four years, and been without a club for the better part of six months.
Nevertheless, recent social posts from the man himself have shown a player giving everything he can off the pitch to prepare for a return.
The 54-cap Italian captioned his latest photos with “I never give up” and “I always believe.”
Could Insigne Return to Napoli?
As a boyhood Napoli academy product, it is clear his heart still lies in Campania.
FootItalia understands that Napoli are not ruling out a six-month emergency proposal for Insigne, who has offered his services to Antonio Conte.
With David Neres’ injury likely to keep him out for at least two months, Conte is having to contend with a slew of injuries.
Conte issued a rallying call to youth players who have been prematurely bumped up to the first team, but it is likely Napoli will have to enter the transfer market, or the free agency pool in Insigne’s case, to remedy their growing casualty list.
Insigne is also under no illusions that he would have to take a significant pay cut, but minutes under his belt and a return to his beloved Naples is his top priority.
