Lazio Set To Sign Great-Nephew Of Italian Singer Gigi D’Alessio

Luigi D’Alessio, who is related to famous Italian singer Gigi D’Alessio, is closing in on a move to Lazio this month.
The 18-year-old keeper is on the books at Serie C side Benevento and is expected to link up with Lazio’s Primavera squad if the deal is completed.
Lazio’s move for D’Alessio has been widely covered in Italy due to his family links to one of Italy’s most famous singers in recent years.
What Luigi D’Alessio could bring to Lazio
Luigi D’Alessio is reportedly “one step away” from joining Lazio, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.
The Biancocelesti have apparently have stepped up their interest in recent days, exploring a deal to sign the teenager from Benevento.
D’Alessio joined Benevento in September 2024 and is now in his second season with the club’s Primavera set-up.
He has also spent time around the senior squad, partly because of injuries in Benevento’s goalkeeping department.

D’Alessio, born in Naples on December 12, 2007, joined the youth academy at Turris in Torre del Greco.
His progress there drew attention from bigger clubs, and he eventually accepted Benevento’s approach in 2024.
Benevento placed him straight into their Primavera squad as part of a long-term development plan.
This season, he has been moving between the Under-19s coached by Stefano De Angelis and Antonio Floro Flores’ first-team.

Francesco, the goalkeeper’s father, is the son of Pietro, the singer-songwriter’s older brother.

Gigi D’Alessio has sold over 30 million records worldwide over the course of his career.
