Andrej Kostic is still in the sights of AC Milan as they reportedly plan a new transfer offensive this summer.

The 19-year-old striker was already in Milan’s sights in January, but the deal fell through due to a lack of agreement on his transfer fee.

Now, with Alex Jimenez set for Bournemouth, the Rossoneri will reportedly look to reinvest the money into the Partizan Belgrade striker.

Andrej Kostic and Alex Jimenez: Why AC Milan expect movement on both fronts

Andrej Kostic would be a long-term investment for AC Milan. They foresee a gradual pathway rather than instant first-team pressure at San Siro.

Milan’s recruitment staff have been tracking him for some time. And they have not dropped the idea after one failed attempt.

Now, a cash injection is imminent for the Rossoneri, which will give them more wiggle room for Kostic.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Bournemouth will buy Alex Jimenez in the coming hours, signing a deal until 2031.

Milan is poised to cash in around €10m plus bonuses from the sale of Jimenez to Bournemouth.

This money will be promptly reused by sporting director Igli Tare to try to strengthen the squad in summer.

And Kostic is first up on Tare’s list, according to the Italian newspaper.

Why Milan want Andrej Kostic

Andrej Kostic has achieved a lot already despite being just 19 years of age.

The Montenegrin striker came through the ranks at Buducnost Podgorica, registering five goals and three assists from just 24 outings.

Kostic’s efforts saw him win the Montenegrin title in 2025, which prompted Partizan to swoop that summer.

He has gone from strength to strength in Serbia, with nine goals from just 29 appearances.

At 6ft 2in, Kostic is a tall, physical player, who boasts speed, and a natural eye for goal.

Gianluca Di Marzio has described him as a ‘modern and complete centre-forward’.

There have also been comparisons with Dusan Vlahovic and Partizan legend Dragan Mance.

“Andrej has something similar to Dragan,” Goran Mance, his brother, said last year.

“What he does is impossible: he’s an 18-year-old kid, but his stats show it all. He has exceptional movement, heading, and shooting.”

In other news, Milan have big plans for new signing Alphadjo Cisse, a young prodigy likened to Lamine Yamal.
