Juventus Consider Deadline Day Swoop For Atletico Madrid Striker Alexander Sorloth

Alexander Sorloth has emerged as a transfer deadline day target for Juventus, reports Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Sport Italia. 

The Bianconeri are in the market for a new striker and are trying to engineer a last-gasp move for the Atletico Madrid target man.

Sorloth is currently nursing a head injury suffered in the recent LaLiga clash against Levante. However, that won’t stop the Old Lady from pursuing the 6ft 5in Norwegian international.

Alexander Sorloth Transfer News Reveals Juventus Interest

Although Randal Kolo Muani’s Juventus return is still being navigated, Alexander Sorloth is also being considered by head coach Luciano Spalletti.

The former Azzurri boss wants more firepower up top owing to Dusan Vlahovic’s muscle injury – which required surgery – and Lois Openda’s struggles in front of goal.

Jonathan David’s recent revival has helped but Spalletti is keen on Sorloth. The main hurdle when it comes to the Atletico Madrid man is that the Spaniards would only consider a permanent transfer.

Something of which Juve is not keen on at this stage. Instead, the Old Lady would only want to strike a loan deal and include a buy option for the summer.

Former Napoli target Sorloth has impressed so far this campaign having netted 10 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions.

In fact, the 30-year-old has netted 20+ goals in each of his previous two seasons. With such consistent numbers, it would take a sizable offer from Juve for the Rojiblancos to consider letting Sorloth go.

But with Atleti’s deal for Ademola Lookman edging closer, there is certainly the possibility for negotiations to tilt in the Bianconeri’s favor.

Who Else Are Juventus Targeting On Deadline Day?

With the likes of Alexander Sorloth, Randal Kolo Muani, Jhon Duran and Joshua Zirkzee being considered, Juventus won’t sign Mauro Icardi.

The current Galatasaray star has proven a huge success in Turkey’s Super Lig. However, Luciano Spalletti splashed cold water on the idea of bringing Icardi back to Serie A.

“I can only say good things about him, but in this case, he’s not the player we’re looking for. We want someone else, and if we don’t find him, we’ll make do with who we have,” Spalletti said after Juve’s 4-1 win over Parma.

Elsewhere, Jeremie Boga has joined Juve from on loan from Nice. The Ivory Coast international is expected to step-in for the injured Kenan Yildiz.

Tarik Muharemovic, Emil Holm and Beto are also on Spalletti’s shortlist. But deals for Jean-Philippe Mateta and Youssef En-Nesyri will not materialize.
