Anastasios Douvikas is the latest striker to emerge as a January transfer target for title-chasing AS Roma.

The Giallorossi are in the hunt for their first Scudetto since 2001 and believe the Como star can help in their quest for silverware come May.

Douvikas netted his fifth and sixth Serie A goals of the season as Cesc Fabregas’ side cruised to a 3-0 win over struggling Pisa on matchday 19.

Anastasios Douvikas Transfer News

After Nico Paz agreed Real Madrid terms earlier this week, Como could potentially be about to lose another of their star performers.

Anastasios Douvikas has been earmarked by Roma as the Giallorossi aim to solve their goalscoring problems. The Greek forward has scored three Serie A goals in as many games and is enjoying a rich vein of form.

Even though Gian Piero Gasperini’s media snub has caused a number of talking points, the wily old boss is still determined to land a new scorer this month.

It’s understood that Gasperini wanted to dodge questions about Roma’s lack of transfer activity. That matter will be dealt with the club internally whilst the former Atalanta boss plots his next move in the market.

Douvikas has only been at the Sinigaglia for 12 months but has impressed fans and pundits alike. The 26-year-old fits the mould of what Gasperini is looking for and he is a favorable candidate.

However, Cesc Fabregas’ side are very unlikely to sell mid-season. Especially to a European rival but the Spaniard may be tempted if a large offer was received.

Roma’s January Targets

As it stands, Roma’s pursuit of Joshua Zirkzee has heightened in the last 24 hours. An injury to Artem Dovbyk means the Ukrainian is set for another spell on the sidelines.

Zirkzee has been tipped to leave Manchester United for a number of months now. However, Ruben Amorim’s sacking may put any potential move on ice.

Elsewhere, Giacomo Raspadori has also been strongly linked. His future at Atletico Madrid looks bleak and a Serie A return is increasingly likely.

Azzurri international and Liverpool outcast Federico Chiesa is also on the cusp of a return to Italy’s elite. Juventus appear the most likely destination but the Giallorossi are strong admirers.

Lorenzo Lucca is another option for Gian Piero Gasperini. So is former star Mo Salah. An incredible return has been mooted owing to the Egyptian international’s falling out with Arne Slot.
