‘Thank Goodness’ – How Lazio Legend Ciro Immobile Performed On His Paris FC Debut
Ciro Immobile made a decent impact on his Paris FC debut despite their cup loss to Lorient.

Ciro Immobile saw his Paris FC debut end in defeat as Lorient won 2-0 in the French Cup.
But despite the loss, there were clear flashes of what the Lazio legend can do which bode well for the future.
In January, Immobile left Bologna after just six months at the Serie A club. He had been struggling for game time.
Paris FC subsequently confirmed that he had joined until the end of the season, with an option for an additional year.
And on Wednesday night, Immobile came off the bench for his Paris FC bow away at Lorient.
Ciro Immobile: ‘More of a threat’ for Paris FC than his attacking peers
Ciro Immobile started on the Paris FC bench and was introduced on 58 minutes, replacing Willem Geubbels.
The Frenchman had endured a difficult game and, though Immobile was not fully match-sharp, he looked a significant improvement.
“Immobile isn’t quite ready yet, (Jean-Philippe) Krasso is struggling, so (Stephane) Gilli fielded the former Monaco player,” Footparis wrote of Geubbels.
“He was almost hopeless, not even bothering to jump for the corner that led to the goal (55th minute).

“Thank goodness he was replaced by Immobile (58th minute), who nearly equalized with his first touch in the box (73rd minute).
“The Italian isn’t at 100 percent yet, and already poses more of a threat than Krasso in 30 minutes.”
Immobile received a round of applause from his new fans as he showed good potential in his cameo outing.
What Ciro Immobile said after the game
Ciro Immobile expressed his delight at joining Paris FC, even though he felt he struggled on his debut.
“It’s been a bit of a complicated week because everything had to be done pretty quickly to finalize the transfer,” said the striker.
“But I’m very happy to be here, because it’s a team that wants to work hard, that wants to grow very quickly.
“So I want to help them, give them the opportunity to score more goals.
“Of course, so far I’ve only had one training session with the rest of the team. But on Sunday we have an important match in Auxerre.
“I felt good tonight, but I also felt like I needed some space because I didn’t play much in Bologna. I lacked quality in my game.”
One of Immobile’s former teammates, Lorenzo Insigne, has also made a surprising move in the January window.
Insigne has joined Pescara, where he and Immobile played together in the 2011/12 season.
