Inter Milan Turn To Fiorentina Star Who Could Solve Denzel Dumfries Absence
The 27-year-old has just 18 months left on his current deal.
According to the latest Dodo transfer news, Inter Milan is preparing a January bid for the Fiorentina full-back.
The Brazilian is looking for a way out of Florence after La Viola’s disastrous first-half to the 2025-26 campaign. Contract talks have come to a dead end and Paolo Vanoli is looking to cash in.
From Inter’s perspective, Dodo would make for an ideal replacement for crocked star Denzel Dumfries. The Dutchman suffered an ankle injury in the 2-0 win over Lazio on matchday 11.
Dodo Transfer News
With Roma targeting Albert Gudmundsson in January, Fiorentina is on the brink of losing another first-team regular next month.
Dodo’s future has remained uncertain for the last few months but with La Viola rooted to the bottom of the table, Inter Milan are prepared to offer an escape route.
After Denzel Dumfries underwent surgery earlier this week, he isn’t expected back until late February. Therefore, Dodo has an excellent chance of filling the void and helping Cristian Chivu’s men land the Scudetto.
The Brazilian right wing-back has played in Italy’s elite since 2022. He offers a wealth of experience and would comfortably fit into Chivu’s style of play.
Dodo Price Tag
Fiorentina were hoping to receive around €30million for Dodo. Now the strugglers are in a very precarious position – and with the defender refusing to pen new terms – a deal for around €15m is more likely.
That is another reason Inter Milan is willing to get a deal over the line in January. Dodo is deemed extremely affordable and it’s an opportunity that cannot be ignored lightly.
The 27-year-old is expected to attract a number of suitors in the coming weeks but the lure of playing for Inter gives the Nerazzurri a clear advantage.
Luis Henrique and Carlos Augusto have often played on the right-hand side in place of Denzel Dumfries but Dodo would be a natural option to fill the void.
Inter Milan Transfer Targets
A number of players are on Inter Milan’s wishlist to replace Denzel Dumfries. One of which is Dinamo Zagreb defender Moris Valincic.
Italy youth internationals Federico Nardin and Lorenzo Tosto are also considerations. Although their lack of experience raises doubts about whether they would improve the squad.
Up-and-coming stars Marco Palestra and Brooke Norton-Cuffy are very much on Inter’s radar, too. The duo have bags of potential and have already earned rave reviews this season.
However, acquiring Dodo is perhaps the safest option at this stage owing to his similarities with Dumfries.
