Fikayo Tomori To Stay At AC Milan Despite Interest
The centre-back looked on the cusp of leaving last summer but has benefitted from a staggering turnaround.
Tomori, who joined Milan from Chelsea in a €29million deal after a successful loan stint in 2021, was part of the side that won the Serie A title in 2021-22 and the 2024-25 Supercoppa Italiana.
He has made 196 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring seven goals and recording six assists. This season, he has played 19 times, underlining his importance under head coach Massimiliano Allegri.
After a bright start to the campaign, he is now unsurprisingly in line for a new deal.
According to journalist Nicolo Schira, Tomori is expected to shortly put pen to paper on his fresh terms. In an intriguing twist, he will do so having rejected multiple offers from unidentified Premier League clubs.
“Fikayo Tomori is one step away from extending his contract with Milan,” Schira wrote on X.
“Agreement in principle reached. The centre-back has been approached by two Premier League clubs, but wanted to stay at Milan and is ready to sign the renewal for a long-term contract.”
As recently as June, multiple publications claimed Milan were ready to part ways with Tomori.
Intermediaries acting on the club’s behalf were understood to have formally offered him to Napoli. Newcastle United were also interested, with the 28-year-old an alternative target to Marc Guehi.
Ultimately, the Magpies brought in Malick Thiaw from Milan in August, in a deal worth just shy of £35m.
In January 2025, Milan also explored Tomori’s departure. Advanced talks were held with Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus, but the player rejected both clubs.
Premier League Clubs Want Fikayo Tomori
As reported by FootItalia, Tomori’s wanted by Premier League outfits Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace.
While he has shown no signs of itching for a return to England, he could be tempted to move on from Milan if his playing time drops, especially with next summer’s World Cup rapidly approaching.
Tomori last featured for England in 2023, but he has not given hope of being included in Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
“The way he’s spoken about it is that it’s difficult because there are so many players in that position,” he said. “I get it because you have players like John Stones, Marc Guehi, Dan Burn and Ezri Konsa.
“But the World Cup is still a dream, and I’m working towards that.”
Milan are understood to have yet to receive a bid for the defender. Regardless, any interested party would need to offer at least €20m to tempt the club to consider a sale. At present, this is unlikely.
