Juventus Star Has ‘Wrong’ Attitude Supporters Don’t Like, Pundit Claims

David delivered another poor performance in the Old Lady’s defeat against Napoli at the weekend and is firmly stuck in a rut, despite being expected to hit the ground running after joining back in July.
The misfiring 25-year-old made the move to Turin after leaving Lille as a free agent, and was tipped to quickly become the club’s first-choice striker.
Instead, he has scored just two goals in 19 appearances across all competitions, while his only highlight of note to date saw him bag the stoppage-time winner against Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League last month.
The frontman has flickered in and out of the side under Luciano Spalletti, but was handed a reprieve after Dusan Vlahovic suffered a serious muscle injury, which will rule him out until March 2026.
However, he has failed to grasp his opportunity and was ineffectual after being brought on against Juventus.
That led former Inter Milan coach turned pundit Andrea Stramaccioni to blast his effort during matches.
“Spalletti had put an out-of-contract player like Vlahovic at the centre of the project,” he said on DAZN, via JuventusNews24. “And when he’s missing, he leaves David out.
“When the Canadian entered the pitch, we see that he’s not willing to ‘eat grass,’ but has the wrong attitude that Juventus fans don’t like.
“At this point, I think there’s no chemistry in the dressing room between Spalletti and the Juventus forwards.”
David has attracted interest from Sevilla, and the LaLiga club could look to sign him on loan in January.
Jonathan David Could Start Against Pafos
Despite his below-par displays, David is in line to return to the starting XI against Pafos in the Champions League on Wednesday. According to Tutto Juve, one of David or Lois Openda will get the nod up for the crucial match.
Having won just one of their first five fixtures in Europe, Spalletti’s side are teetering on the brink of a shock elimination and will need all three points against the minnows to reignite their hopes of reaching the knockouts.
Cypriot outfit Pafos are 24th in the group phase but hold the same amount of points as Juventus – six.
The showdown has come too early for Gleison Bremer and Daniele Rugani, but the duo are expected to return against Bologna in Serie A on Sunday.
