Juventus Reach Agreement With Igor Tudor To Terminate Former Boss’ Contract
Tudor was sacked in October after a dire run of form.
Juventus have finally reached an agreement with Igor Tudor to terminate his contract.
Igor Tudor Contract Ripped Up Three Months After Sacking
Tudor has agreed to tear up his deal early, according to multiple publications in Italy. The 47-year-old was sacked by the Old Lady in October and remained on his approximate €3million net wage per season.
The Croatian head coach was tied down until 2027, but Juventus have now removed his wages from the books.
He had taken charge in March 2025 after replacing the axed Thiago Motta and steered the club to an invaluable fourth-placed finish in Serie A, securing them Champions League football.
During the summer, he was rewarded with a new two-year deal. This also included the option to extend by a further 12 months.
However, a poor start to the current campaign saw the Turin giants languishing in eighth place, and Tudor was dismissed after a run of eight games without a win in all competitions.
His final game in charge proved to be the dismal 1-0 loss against Lazio.
But, having finally reached an agreement over his contract, Tudor is now free to take up another job with any other foreign club. He is restricted from coaching another Serie A club for the rest of 2025-26.
Igor Tudor’s Mixed Juventus Record
Tudor oversaw 24 Juventus matches in total, winning ten of them, drawing eight and losing six.
He had played for the club for almost a decade from 1998-2007, making more than 100 appearances. Tudor also boasted previous coaching experience in Italy with Udinese, Hellas Verona and Lazio.
After just three months with I Biancocelesti, in which he sealed a spot in the Europa League, he resigned after failing to agree with president Claudio Lotito over transfer targets.
He acted as Andrea Pirlo’s No 2 in Turin during 2020-21, but the duo were sacked in May 2021.
Thiago Motta Remains Under Contract
Former head coach Thiago Motta is still contracted to Juventus despite his firing almost a year ago.
His terms will run until June 2027, and there are no suggestions that he will agree to an early termination.
Real Sociedad were interested in Motta but did not make an approach. A departure would have allowed Juventus to save millions in remaining salary commitments and brought an end to a frosty stalemate.
