Leon Bailey declared ‘forza Roma‘ to eager Giallorossi supporters ahead of his loan switch to the Stadio Olimpico.
Bailey is on the cusp of becoming Gian Piero Gasperini’s seventh summer signing. The Jamaican star will join the likes of Evan Ferguson, Wesley and Neil El Aynaoui in the capital.
Touching down at Ciampino Airport on August 19, Bailey is set to undergo medical tests before officially putting pen to paper with Gasperini’s charges.

After Jadon Sancho turned down Roma, the Giallorossi have wasted no time at all in drafting in an alternative winger. In fact, Leon Bailey has long been on Gian Piero Gasperini’s shortlist but Sancho’s snub accelerated proceedings.
The Aston Villa winger will join on an initial season-long loan deal for a reported fee of €2million. There is also a buy option included for €22m if the Magica decides to sign Bailey permanently.
All that remains is for Bailey to pass his medical and he will be officially announced as a Roma player in the next 24-48 hours. He could feature in the Serie A opener against Bologna on August 23.

Not only did Leon Bailey arrive at Ciampino Airport full of excitement, a number of supporters did too. A legion of Giallorossi fans cheered loudly as Bailey signed autographs and posed for pictures.
Prior to his medical examination, Bailey shouted ‘forza Roma‘ to the crowd. Naturally, this is a fine way to get on the good side of the club’s loyal following.
Once Bailey signs on the dotted line, supporters will be desperate to see their new signing in action. It will be the Jamaican international’s first stint in Serie A.
The 28-year-old has represented Genk, Leverkusen and Aston Villa so far in his pro soccer career. Now, the winger has the chance to impress in Italy as he embarks on a new chapter.
