Lorenzo Insigne Joins Pescara As Delfini Fans Handed Another Big Surprise
The Napoli and Italy great was linked with several Serie A sides but has now joined the Serie B strugglers, where he previously played on loan.

Lorenzo Insigne has officially completed his return to Pescara, the Serie B club confirming his signing on a free transfer.
The 34-year-old has agreed a deal running until June 30, with an automatic renewal clause if Pescara secure survival.
Insigne will wear the number 11 again, a shirt that supporters still associate with his breakthrough season in Abruzzo.
Pescara have also handed Delfini fans another Insigne-related surprise ahead of their weekend meeting with Mantova.
Lorenzo Insigne straight into Pescara squad for Mantova test
Lorenzo Insigne has made Pescara’s official squad list for Saturday’s Serie B game against Mantova.
This is a surprise because the club’s president, Daniele Sebastiani, previously suggested Insigne would not be involved.
“Physically, he’s doing well,” he said, as relayed by FootItalia.
“Obviously, he’ll need a few weeks to get back into shape, but we can afford to wait for him.
“It’s too early to see him on the pitch against Mantua, also due to bureaucratic issues, but he’ll definitely be at the stadium.”
However, Insigne has made the squad, so now there’s a chance he could take to the pitch.

What Insigne has said about Pescara move
Lorenzo Insigne had been a free agent since leaving MLS side Toronto FC in 2025.
A number of Serie A sides wanted him, but Pescara – bottom of Serie B – have won the race.
It’s very much a romantic move, as Insigne had a fruitful loan spell at Pescara earlier in his career.
Insigne said on Thursday evening, after his Pescara medical: “I’m here thanks to the excellent relationship I have with President Sebastiani and Sporting Director Foggia.
“But the cherry on top was Marco (Verratti). We talk every day, he pushed me a lot, and believe me, I’m very happy with this choice.
“What do I promise the fans? That both I and my new teammates will give it our all to try and save the team.
“I’ve had a special year here. Pescara must stay in Serie B. I hope to achieve our goal because this city deserves it.
“Zeman? The coach is always in my heart. He launched me, and I’ll never miss an opportunity to call him.”
“Immobile? I hear from Ciro often, but I don’t have to sponsor him to come here. He’s a great champion and knows exactly what he has to do.”
