Serie A winter transfer window ends without fireworks and Mateta’s burst

It was a pretty chill session, nothing too surprising or dramatic. The big Serie A clubs didn’t really meet expectations.

Jean-Philippe Mateta was the star of the show. There was some talk about the Frenchman joining Juventus at the start of January, but Milan ended up being his top choice.

The deal was pretty much done, since everyone involved had agreed on the financial terms. But Mateta’s knee messed up the physical tests the Rossoneri’s technical staff set, and he’ll need surgery.

As for the striker position, it was also a washout for Juventus.

The Bianconeri bought former Sassuolo player Boga and swapped Joao Mario for Holm with Bologna.

But after leaving the Mateta trail, Juventus turned right back to Kolo Muani. A love never forgotten.

Tottenham wasn’t looking to lose him, at least not for the time being. It seems like the negotiations started too late for the deal to go through.

Roma’s definitely the team that’s gotten the most stronger with the new players Donyell Malen, Saragozza, and Vaz.
