Juventus Keeping Tabs On Sunderland Winger Simon Adingra
Juve are monitoring the 2023 AFCON hero.
Simon Adingra has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Juventus as the Bianconeri plot a long-term successor to Kenan Yildiz.
Adingra has been an integral part of Sunderland’s surprising success in the English Premier League this season. The Ivorian has helped the Black Cats to 9th spot after they earned promotion last term.
In the summer, Adingra was drafted in as part of head coach Regis Le Bris squad overhaul to help the Mackem’s maintain their top-flight status. Something of which they are very likely to achieve.
So far this campaign, Adingra has one goal and one assist to his name in England’s elite. His overall impressive displays and continued rise has certainly caught the eye of the Old Lady.
Juventus Interested In Simon Adingra
Although Juventus’ Jean-Philippe Mateta pursuit is gaining plenty of headlines this month, Luciano Spalletti is trying to engineer a move for Simon Adingra as well.
The Ivorian international has only been with Sunderland since July but Spalletti believes he can lure Adingra to the Allianz Stadium at the end of the season.
The former Azzurri boss will need to move quickly, however. The likes of Real Madrid and Liverpool are also keeping tabs on the 24-year-old left winger.
That would make any potential move from Juve more tricky and certainly move expensive. Not only that, the Black Cats will be determined to keep Adingra at the Stadium of Light going into the 2026-27 campaign.
Will Kenan Yildiz Leave Juventus?
After JuveFC reported that Simon Adingra is firmly on Juventus’ radar, it further fuels the rumors about Kenan Yildiz’s Bianconeri future.
Yildiz’s €100million asking price was firmly put in place to try and ward off potential suitors. Of which include Real Madrid, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea.
Furthermore, Yildiz’s contract talks have been somewhat stop-start. The Old Lady wants to make him their highest-paid player in hope that he’ll pen new terms.
If Juve’s poster boy does decide his time in Turin is up, having Simon Adingra on standby place makes sense. Adingra may not be the most exciting name to replace Yildiz but the winger certainly has plenty of potential.
Naturally, the Yildiz saga is expected to continue over the next few months. Supporters will be hoping that he does stay but if he doesn’t, Spalletti will ramp up his interest in Adingra.
