Tchoca Joins Torino From Corinthians: The New Gleison Bremer?
Torino hope the 22-year-old can become as big a player as Gleison Bremer during his time with the Granata.

Tchoca is joining Torino in the January transfer window, the Brazilian centre-back arriving from Corinthians.
The 22-year-old is Italy-bound after an agreement between the clubs, with Corinthians confirming the player’s move on social media.
Tchoca is moving to Torino on loan with an obligation to buy for €4.5m if he plays 45 or more minutes in at least 10 games.
Gianluca Petrachi will be hoping Tchoca can become the new Gleison Bremer, one of Torino’s greatest defenders of recent times.
Tchoca to Torino: his career so far
Tchoca, whose full name is Joao Pedro de Sousa Rodrigues, was born on 31 December 2003 in the Brazilian city of Sete Lagoas.
The 22-year-old came through Corinthians’ academy, signing his first professional deal in 2023.
Tchoca made his senior debut in the Campeonato Paulista in 2024, then spent six months on loan at Ceara in Brazil’s Serie B.

He played 10 times for Ceara, before returning to Corinthians and becoming far more regular in the first team.
Last season, Tchoca featured 29 times, scoring once and adding one assist, as his reputation grew quickly in Sao Paulo.
Tchoca style of play: why Torino see a ‘new Bremer’ path
Tchoca is a right-footed central defender who can cover any role in Marco Baroni’s back three.
He has also played on the left side despite being right-footed, and can fill in wider when needed.
Gianluca Di Marzio says Tchoca is viewed in Brazil as one of the most promising defenders of his generation.
That reputation comes from his physical strength and the tactical awareness he developed in Corinthians’ youth system.
How quickly he adapts to Italian football remains to be seen, but Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi has a strong record with Brazilian signings.
Gleison Bremer and Bruno Peres are often cited as the best examples of Petrachi’s recruitment in Brazil.
Interestingly, Tchoca is even taller than Bremer. The former is over 6ft 3in and the latter is 6ft 2in.
Torino will hope Tchoca can make an instant impact, especially after the shock 6-0 defeat by Como at the weekend.
Elsewhere, Torino want Luca Ranieri amid an increasingly uncertain future at Fiorentina.
Torino also like Tommaso Barbieri of Cremonese, though Juventus and Lazio are also in the picture.
