Paulo Dybala is expected to miss out on Roma’s Europa League game at Panathinaikos after taking a knock to his knee.
The Giallorossi are in action this evening in their final Europa League group game away to Rafa Benitez’s side.
Dybala made the squad for the trip to Athens, but then felt a twinge during Wednesday’s training session.

Paulo Dybala has a poor injury record in recent years, which means Roma are especially eager to take precautions over his fitness.
ANSA reported the Argentine was still feeling pain after the knock, even though he travelled with the squad and trained in recent days.
The reassuring message from people close to Dybala is that the issue is apparently not overly alarming. The likelihood is that it’s a simple bruise.
Similarly, Calciomercato relayed reports saying Roma’s medical staff initially “generally dismissed” the problem as a minor contusion.
However, Roma’s medical and technical staff, together with the player, have decided to carry out instrumental tests on Friday.
The aim is to rule out any more serious damage, including issues involving the knee and meniscus.
Sky Sport Italia reporter Angelo Mangiante also addressed the situation, albeit in a slightly more pessimistic way.
He said the “sensations are not good” after Dybala felt pain in training.
Tests will verify whether there’s anything linked to the meniscus or ligaments, he added.

Paulo Dybala knee injury: When Roma star could next be available
Paulo Dybala is almost certain to miss out on Roma’s Europa League group finale against Panathinaikos.
Roma are sixth in the table and must win to make sure of automatic qualification to the last 16.
However, La Joya’s availability for the upcoming Serie A meeting with Udinese remains in doubt, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi travel to Udine on Monday night, with the third-placed side eager to keep snapping at AC Milan’s heels.
Dybala’s Roma future is uncertain, with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
