Inter Milan Consider Selling Marcus Thuram In The Summer Transfer Window
Les Bleus international could be moved on this year.
Marcus Thuram could be sold by Inter Milan this summer as Cristian Chivu plots a San Siro overhaul.
Chivu is considering cashing in on the France forward to help generate funds to replenish his roster. Thuram arrived at Inter on a free transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2023.
To date, Thuram has scored 44 goals in 120 appearances across all competitions. He was part of the squad who won the Scudetto in 2023-24 and was named in the Serie A Team of the Season the same campaign.
Marcus Thuram Transfer News
Although 2026 is still in its infancy, Inter Milan is strongly toying with the idea of letting Marcus Thuram leave at the end of the season.
After Inter thrashed Pisa 6-2 on matchday 22, it meant the France international has gone four consecutive league games without scoring.
Thuram’s lack of goals is not understood to be the main reason for the club to be considering his departure. Arsenal target Pio Esposito and summer-signing Ange-Yoan Bonny are viewed as better long-term prospects.
Furthermore, the transfer fee that Thuram will generate is purely capital gain. It’s widely believed a number of Europe’s elite will be interested in his services.
The 28-year-old has scored 11 times in all competitions this season and chipped in with four assists. However, he hasn’t found the target since the 2-0 win against Parma on January 7.
Marcus Thuram Valuation
Considering Marcus Thuram still has two-and-a-half years on his current deal, Inter Milan will demand approximately €60-70million for the France international.
Many English Premier League clubs would be willing to pay that figure for Thuram. There’s also a plausible possibility that Saudi Pro League sides would be happy to fork out, too.
Although Pio Esposito is on Arsenal’s radar, it’s extremely unlikely he’ll quit the San Siro. Especially as Federico Dimarco compared Esposito to Christian Vieri after the Pisa win.
The 20-year-old is widely viewed as the Nerazzurri’s new poster boy and can earn legendary status. And with Ange-Yoan Bonny impressing, he’ll likely remain for the foreseeable future.
Thuram isn’t by any means unhappy in Milan but a new venture could suit both club and player. Even more so as Esposito will start against BVB in the Champions League this week ahead of the former Gladbach star.
What Teams Will Be Interested In Marcus Thuram?
In the Premier League, the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and both Manchester clubs are likely to monitor Marcus Thuram’s situation.
The same can be said about LaLiga trio Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Closer to home, Juventus could reconsider their interest having previously been linked.
Champions League winners PSG are also an option alongside Bayern Munich and possibly Borussia Dortmund. In the coming weeks, more clubs are set to track Thuram.
In terms of Cristian Chivu’s revamp, Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is a strong consideration to replace veteran shot-stopper Yann Sommer.
Elsewhere, Inter target Tarik Muharemovic is still very much on Chivu’s radar. The Sassuolo defender is generating plenty of interest across Serie A.
Such transfers could be directly funded by Thuram’s exit. So to could Ademola Lookman’s – who came close to joining in the summer window.
