Torino Edge Closer To Callum Olusesi Loan Deal As Tottenham Reject PSV Approach

Callum Olusesi is closing in on a loan deal with Torino after Tottenham reportedly turned down PSV’s approach. 

Olusesi is currently on Spurs’ books but head coach Thomas Frank is happy to let the talented midfielder leave in the January transfer window.

The Lambeth-born starlet has impressed for the north Londoners Under 18 side but is yet to make his English Premier League debut.

Although Olusesi lacks senior experience, Il Toro head coach Marco Baroni remains confident the teenage prodigy can make a positive impact in Serie A.

Callum Olusesi Transfer News – Torino Loan Deal Close

At the beginning of the month, Torino targeted Callum Olusesi with the club believing the English youngster would provide another dimension in the middle of the field.

Having been in negotiations with Tottenham, a deal is now close to fruition. Il Toro will take Olusesi on an initial loan deal with an option to buy included.

Reports from Alfredo Pedulla explain that the Serie A side has ‘agreed on everything.’ All that remains is for Olusesi to sign on the dotted line – which is expected to happen later this week.

PSV made a late bid which was swiftly rebuffed so Marco Baroni can expect to get his man in the coming days. The deal has been temporarily put on ice owing to Olusesi’s inclusion in Spurs’ senior squad for the UCL clash in Frankfurt.

If Olusesi features, it will be his second appearance for the Lilywhites. The midfield ace made his debut in last season’s Europa League clash against Hoffenheim.

Torino’s January Transfer Targets

So far in January, Torino have signed Tchoca and Rafa Obrador. Both defenders have penned loan deals with Callum Olusesi expected to be the third.

However, who else are Il Toro targeting before the transfer window shuts? Lazio forward Tijjani Noslin is a consideration but Monaco and Villarreal are also keen.

So to are Serie A trio Fiorentina, Parma and Cagliari. With interest in the Dutchman plentiful, Marco Baroni must keep his options open. Even Everton striker Beto is on the Granata’s radar.

Elsewhere, Luca Ranieri is also a target. The Fiorentina defender looks destined to leave Florence in the coming days. A number of Italy’s elite are keeping track of Ranieri which includes the Biancocelesti. 

For now though, Olusesi’s impending arrival will give Baroni hope his charges can move up the table. Torino are currently languishing in 16th place but face fellow strugglers Lecce and Fiorentina in their next two league games.
