Inter Milan Step Up Pursuit Of Atalanta Star Ederson

The Serie A giants have been long-term admirers.

According to the latest Ederson transfer news, Inter Milan are set to revisit their interest in the Atalanta midfielder.

The Nerazzurri tried to lure the Brazilian to the San Siro in the summer but their advances were swiftly rebuffed. Now, head coach Cristian Chivu is ready to try his luck once again.

La Dea will do all they can to keep the 26-year-old in Bergamo. However, Ederson’s contract expires in 2027 so an end-of-season sale may be the last chance to cash in for a considerable fee.

Ederson Transfer News

Although Liverpool and Barcelona want Ederson, Inter Milan believes they can win the race for his signature. Atalanta are bracing themselves for a number of January bids across the continent.

Raffaele Palladino’s side will do their utmost to keep their midfield maestro on board until the end of the season. And that is exactly when Inter are set to strike.

Ederson is understood to be very open on a move to the San Siro. Although it didn’t materialize in the summer, both parties are keen to get the deal over the line.

The 2024-25 Champions League runners-up will need to move quickly, though. Both Manchester clubs and Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on the Brazil international.

How Much Would Ederson Cost Inter Milan?

Owing to Ederson’s contract talks stalling, his chances of staying in Bergamo past 2027 are extremely remote. With that in mind, Atalanta will likely entertain summer bids of approximately €30-40million.

A figure that was previously highlighted by the midfielder’s agent.

“It’s an opportunity because his contract is expiring. His side didn’t want to sell him despite very high offers. I think they will do it in this January window or in the summer, Andre Cury said.

“They wanted a lot of money, €60-75m. He is close to the end of his deal, so they could cut the price in half, to €30-40m.”

Who Else Is On Inter Milan’s Wishlist?

Cristian Chivu is expected to be very busy over the next two transfer windows. Inter Milan target Marco Palestra – who is owned by Atalanta but on loan at Cagliari – is the priority for January.

The Azzurri Under 21 ace is considered as a long-term replacement for Denzel Dumfries. Staying in defense, Sassuolo star Tarik Muharemovic is also on Inter’s radar.

Even Al-Hilal outcast Joao Cancelo is being considered. The Portuguese full-back had a public spat with former Nerazzurri head coach Simone Inzaghi and a return to the club is being mooted.

Whatever happens over the next two windows, Chivu will do everything in his power to bring Ederson to Milan. He is the main aim for the summer and could help take the club to the next level domestically and in Europe.
