Fiorentina Flop Edin Dzeko Targeted By Ligue 1 Outfit Paris FC

Edin Dzeko could be on his way out of Fiorentina with Paris FC keen to sign the veteran forward this month. 

Dzeko has struggled since making his move to Florence in the summer. The Bosnian legend has failed to score a single Serie A goal for La Viola in 11 appearances.

He has fared slightly better in Europe, though. Dzeko scored in a Conference League qualifier against Polissya in August and then in the main competition against Rapid Vienna in October.

However, Dzeko’s overall poor form and lack of minutes has seen the former Manchester City star weigh up his options.

A resolution could come in the form of the French side. The Parisians are on the lookout for new attackers and believe Dzeko could still do a job in France’s elite.

Edin Dzeko Wanted By Paris FC

Despite Edin Dzeko’s Fiorentina fan outburst back in November after a UECL defeat to AEK Athens, Paris FC are willing to give the 39-year-old a chance at the Stade Jean-Bouin.

A report from L’Équipe suggests the capital-club are desperate to add more reinforcements up top. Dzeko is very much in his twilight years and La Viola is happy to bin him off.

Having lost out on signing Ludovic Ajorque and Sidiki Chérif, Paris remain quietly confident they can lure Dzeko on a short-term deal. Especially as Paolo Vanoli doesn’t plan on using Dzeko in his relegation battle.

In fact, Vanoli is likely at a stance where he wants Dzeko to go as soon as possible to help boost morale. A transfer fee isn’t likely to be involved owing to Dzeko’s age and has just five months left on his current deal.

Fiorentina’s January Signings

So far this winter, Fiorentina’s signing of Marco Brescianini and Manor Solomon has helped in their quest for Serie A survival.

La Viola are actually undefeated in 2026 and held Scudetto-chasing AC Milan to a draw last time out. Having picked up five points from the last nine, avoiding relegation is looking more likely.

However, replacing Edin Dzeko will need to be prioritized. New sporting director Fabio Paratici doesn’t officially start his role until February but will be influencing new arrivals this month.

Paratici is understood to be a fan of Patrick Wimmer and Yaser Asprilla. Both players are expected to play at the World Cup and are happy to move mid-season from their parent clubs.

Leeds United’s Jack Harrison is also close to signing. The English winger has already been pictured in Fiorentina’s training kit ahead of a loan transfer. He will join in the summer on a permanent deal for €7million. Should relegation be avoided.
