Frattesi Bombshell: Juventus And Inter Talks Hinge On Surprise Clause

Juventus and Inter are reportedly in contact over a possible January deal involving midfielder Davide Frattesi and Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic.
Davide Frattesi wants minutes as Juventus circle
Frattesi has been linked with a move away from Inter in 2026 after falling down the pecking order under Cristian Chivu.
The 26-year-old has fewer than 500 minutes of competitive club football under his belt this season.
Meanwhile, Juventus have taken a shine to Frattesi as they look to bolster their midfield ranks.
The Bianconeri believe his running power and late box arrivals could add crucial goals from midfield.
Inter reportedly value Frattesi at about €30m, which could be difficult for Juve to reach outright.
A key bargaining chip could be Muharemovic, a centre-back Inter are monitoring as they plan to revamp their defence.
Juventus retain a 50% sell-on stake in Muharemovic from his move to Sassuolo.
They could waive the stake in order to facilitate a move for Frattesi, according to Calciomercato.
Roma also like Frattesi, who has 103 Inter appearances and 33 Italy caps under his belt.
Inter have a big 2026 planned on the transfer front, with much of their first-team squad in need of revamping.
Tarik Muharemovic clause could unlock wider agreement
Muharemovic has impressed at Sassuolo and is attracting interest beyond Italy, with Bournemouth also linked.
Sassuolo signed the 22-year-old from Juventus in a deal worth around €4m, with Juventus keeping a significant resale percentage.
The Neroverdi have reportedly placed a €25m price tag on the defender, making Juve’s sell-on clause a potentially valuable tool in negotiations.
If Inter pursue Muharemovic, Juventus foregoing their 50% clause could reduce Inter’s overall outlay and, in turn, soften talks over Frattesi.
It would effectively create a three-club chain: Inter target Muharemovic, Juventus use their contractual leverage, and Frattesi becomes more attainable.
In addition, Sassuolo are open to letting the Bosnia & Herzegovina international leave in January for the right price.
Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali told Sky Sport Italia: “We’re getting requests, it’s still early days and we’ll have to wait and see.
“Muharemovic is showing great things and is a player with tremendous potential.
“There’s no point hiding it, it’s also part of our policy.
“We’ve always been a club that seeks to develop young players, help them grow, and give them the chance to join a big club.”
Why Bournemouth could cause Juventus problems
Bournemouth could pose big problems for Inter in pursuit of Muharemovic, however.
The English Premier League boasts considerable financial muscle and, even though Bournemouth are struggling, they’re not short of money.
Cherries director Tiago Pinto also boasts a good relationship with Sassuolo chairman Giovanni Carnevali.
The two completed several deals during Pinto’s time at Roma.
