Udinese Issa Doumbia Targeted for Midfield Future

Udinese are already planning ahead. The Friuli club have set their sights on Issa Doumbia, currently at Venezia.

The orange-green club says the player can’t be transferred, but that doesn’t mean the Friulians can’t keep him in Laguna until June, then buy him to replace those who will leave, like Arthur Atta or, maybe Nicolò Zaniolo.

Growing European Interest in Doumbia

A bunch of European clubs have been keen on Doumbia. Back in December, there were scouts from Celtic, Club Brugge and Espanyol at the Penzo Stadium.

These clubs had also been interested in him during the last transfer window, and Cremonese had already asked for information recently, too.

Southampton, on the other hand, has been following him since last summer, when it made a €6 million offer.

This season, he’s been a key player in the midfield, with nineteen appearances, two goals and one assist.

Issa Doumbia’s story is one of a sudden rise, from his first experience in Serie C with AlbinoLeffe to his big leap with the Lagunari last year, in Serie A, with twenty-three appearances.

Then they called him up to the Under-21s, where he had already played three games, and now a bunch of European clubs are interested in him.

Udinese Market Moves Between Midfield and Attack

Galatasaray are still on the lookout for players like Fofana (Milan), Koopmeiners (Juventus) and Frattesi (Inter). But the Turks also want to strengthen their attack, as well as the midfield.

It seems that Gala are after Keinan Davis. The English centre forward born in 1998 that plays for Udinese, has scored six goals and provided three assists in this Serie A season with the Friulians.

In the mean time, Las Palmas has got Iker Bravo on board. The Spanish club talked to Udinese yesterday about signing the young Real Madrid academy product and completed the deal today.

This should stop the player feeling unhappy about not playing enough.
